Creek Week is almost here!!

Hi all!

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having and are getting ready to help our local park this weekend for Creek Week! We'll be out there bright and early on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. (Creek Week timing starts at 9 a.m., but the park district folks like an early start :)) by the service entrance with some extra working tools and jugs of water. When you're finished putting in a few hours of good work with friends, you can get a ticket for a t-shirt and free BBQ at Carmichael Park at noon! Please RSVP to me if you think you'll head over to the big event so I can make sure to have enough tickets available. Please make sure to have the following items with you so you can be prepared and comfortable out in the warm Spring sun, ready to rock and roll!

Come Prepared!

Use the checklist below so that you come prepared for creek conditions.

  • Your own drinking water
  • A bucket or re-usable shopping bag to collect light trash (per person)
  • Comfortable, washable clothes
  • Long pants and long sleeves
  • Hat and Sunscreen
  • Gloves (work or gardening type)
  • Shoes that can get wet and muddy (we are highly unlikely to have muddy conditions btw :))
  • Grabbing tool or rake (optional)

Our Creek Week also coincides with Carmichael Park and Recreation District's Adopt-A-Park day to help keep our park clean, maintenance efforts kept up, and even help out with a bit of weeding and clearing of brush with a parks staff member supervising.

Give me a call (Carmen) or email me with any questions at all and please do spread the word and help us get a good turn out to show our appreciation for our park! Thanks so much all!
